Pallavakkam Seashore St. Anthony’s Shrine - The Diocese of Chingleput

Palm Sunday 2016

The First day of the Holy week ‘Palm Sunday’ began with the mood of walking with Jesus. As a sign of accompanying Jesus in his Victories march towards Jerusalem, our parish people also with the faithful from our own Diocesan other parishes marched with Jesus and for Jesus. Our palm procession started from the University Quatress, Kottivakkam. More than 500 people took part in this pious palm procession singing Hosanna.

Jesus saved us by shedding his blood on the cross. In remembrance of this Holy one and only pure act of love our Youth friends have arranged a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ on this day. It was felt so meaningful by many. Also we can witness around 120 people have donated their blood on this particular day. It was well appreciated and welcomed by many others too. Especially it was a great inspiration for the young minds to be aware and to be part of actions that are social saving and social serving actions.

Holy week began in a meaningful way. It was so illumining that our people made up their mind to be always conscious of God and also decided to spend much time with the Lord. Also the importance of the ‘Year of Mercy’ was always at the back of our all spiritual endeavours.
